Work Experience



I am currently available for freelance work - research, programming, or writing. The following pages give details of my current projects and products. A short CV is as follows:

  • Lots of experience in research, software engineering (design and development) and (technical) writing.
  • Main programming languages are Java and C#. My own products are listed on the following pages.
  • Primarily Windows-based environment, with some experience of Linux.
  • Main areas of interest – Artificial Intelligence (especially autonomous/agent-based or neural systems, search or query processes), distributed information systems and scheduling/optimisation.
  • Most programming experience with server-side data processing, algorithm development, or windows-based GUI development.
  • Internet programming includes XML, Web Services, servers, distributed communication, ASP.Net, HTML and JavaScript.
  • Web site development experience.

I have been managing this web site since 2009. Before that I worked for several years in an R&D environment, mainly on University-based research contracts. During this time I have gained experience of programming with Java or C# and writing various forms of technical document. I have written a number of innovative software systems in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, distributed information systems and scheduling systems, with particular emphasis on server-side processing of information and algorithm development. I have also published a number of papers in these areas and written one book. I would also be available for consultancy work.
